Easton, PA – Farmers’ Market
Summer’s here! Time to enjoy shopping outdoors for fresh locally grown produce and goods. Easton’s Farmers’ Market is in full swing and provides a great opportunity to visit with neighbors, learn about and support small local businesses and enjoy the products they sell. Easton sits on the boarder of PA and NJ where the Delaware and Lehigh rivers come together, and where you’ll find a long running (oldest continuous market in the U.S.) vibrant farmer’s market, held weekly in the town square.

Saturday’s the market unfolds, as a variety of vendors fill the town square and surround the 75-foot tall Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument- obelisk and fountain. Tables and chairs are spread out under the trees, providing a shady place to to sit, relax and enjoy beverages and food purchased from the local vendors.
There’s a nice variety of goods available at the market. Some of the local merchants set up displays, which is a great way to get to know what they sell in their shops. The folks from Mercantile Home have a creative display, highlighting the unique products they make and sell at there shop, located just down the street from the market (140 Northampton Street, Suite D Easton, PA 18042)
Baked goods, organic food and beverages, gourmet mushrooms, produce, meats and cheeses are just some of the fantastic fare available at the market. By the size of the crowd and lines at the booths it’s clear that shoppers appreciate the quality of the goods being sold.
The Easton Farmer’s Market is really one of the better markets we’ve been to lately. It was so nice to see folks visiting with neighbors, friends and vendors. With such a welcoming atmosphere, lovely downtown setting and variety of quality goods, it’s understandable why, many of the shoppers come every weekend. When summer comes to an end the market continues by moving indoors, at 325 Northampton Street, Easton, PA.
For a long time I’ve heard stories about Easton’s continuing efforts at revitalizing it’s downtown. After visiting the market and walking around the downtown I’d say their efforts have paid off. The Farmer’s Market is easy to get to for directions visit their website, and well worth a visit. If you go, allow some time to explore the downtown area, theres’s much to see and do here and if you have kids the Crayola Experience, visitor center is located directly across from the market.
And while you’re at the market, grab breakfast at The Quadrant! It’s a bookstore/cafe with some of the best breakfast foods/pastries I’ve ever eaten. One of my favorite things from my years at Lafayette College.
That sounds great! thanks for the info, we will check it out on our next visit – we love Bookstore cafe’s!
