Fensty’s indoor flea market has been open for a few years. We’ve visited several times now and found the market growing and changing, in a positive way. Fensty’s, (formerly The Shoppes at Bally Brooke) is located just off of Route 100 – Main Street Bally, directly across from Quigley Chevrolet. Bally, PA is tucked on the eastern edge of Berks County with Route 100 running directly through this small town. State Route 100 is a busy road connecting communities from Route 202 and West Chester, PA in the south, all the way up north to Route 309 and Pleasant Corners, PA.  This area of Berks County makes a great weekend get-away, with pretty back roads and some nice *B&B’s for overnight stays. There’s even a great little ski area, Bear Creek, nearby.

There is much more to browse through than I’ve listed here and each week the inventory changes.

antique jugs and jewelry at Fensty's flea market, Bally, PAFensty’s is a year-round, indoor market, housed in an old factory type warehouse which has great natural light from the old large windows lining both sides of the building.  Don’t let the rough exterior turn you away as there’s some real vintage and antique treasures and bargains to be found inside.

I really appreciate the ATM located inside (have used it several times) and the food vendor, who makes delicious baked goods and other yummy food to keep you fueled up while you’re shopping.

Fenstys-flea-5Every time I’ve visited Fensty’s Flea Market I’ve managed to find something that I’ve been looking for, at very fair prices. Now, we try to stop in every time we’re in the area, it’s part of our itinerary. If you visit leave a comment, we’d love to hear about your experience.

Fenstys-flea-6Tips for Shopping at Indoor Flea Markets:

1. Visit often (if you can) as inventory changes frequently. Make sure to walk around at least twice, so you don’t miss anything
2. Follow the market on social media or sign up for their mailing list, so you’ll be notified of sales and special events.
3. Chat with the vendors, they’re usually nice folks and can help if you’re looking for something special or want to discuss prices.
4. Haggle, nicely – Don’t be rude these folks are trying to make a living and are often passionate about what they find and sell. They’re great resources to learn from if you are new to collecting and flea market shopping.
5. Look for Sale signs – vendors will often have sales to reduce and move inventory.

Yes it’s a fun new addition to that area, and they are expanding! Saw your Retro-Roadmap meet-up for the Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, PA, sorry we won’t be able to make it, what a fun tour and one of my favorite movies!

      Hi Malissa
Thanks so much for reading our blog and I’m super happy you found it helpful. I’ve always loved finding new places to thrift/junk/flea shop and I love to share my discoveries! There are two other places in York that I havent had a chance to visit and review, but I heard they are worth a visit. ReFindings and Redeux. Let me know if you find anything good on your trip and happy thrifting!

Hadn’t known they changed the name. Much easier to say and remember. Have you been up the road about, I’d say, 4 miles to Another Man’s Treasure? Travel north on 100 and turn Richt onto 29 about half mile. Another great place to thrift shop. It’s located in an old car dealership so it’s nice and big. Stuff changes every week.
Also, there’s another antique consign shop with vendor booths up past 29 on Rt 100. Forget the name. Great stuff in the area!

      Hi
Yes we’ve been to Another Man’s Treasure, it’s fun, I hope to write about them soon. The other shop you are thinking of is probably Zionsville – yes they are another good stop. So many places to explore! Looking forward to warmer weather so we can shop the outdoor flea markets. Will you be bringing your awesome vintage trailer, and vintage goods back to Jake’s this year?
