If you love to shop secondhand and vintage you know how exciting it is when you find a new place to check out!  This week we have a new little shop (just opened a few weeks ago) with a lot to look through (the best kind of shop if you ask me). We stumbled across Mac’s Resale shop on Route 11/15 one day on our way back to Harrisburg, after a nice hike in Duncannon, PA. Mac’s is on the end of a larger building which houses the Big Bee Boats shop. We were happy to be able to stop in on a sunday when most other thrift shops are closed.

Mac’s has a good blend of vintage furniture, housewares, jewelry and even hardware. There’s a few items of clothing and a fun collection of hand crocheted blankets. I picked up one of our favorite lamps here (see photo below left).

This is a nice little shop with friendly folks running it, who are happy to chat about the goods they sell. The owner Jim McDonald  has been buying and selling for many years. His daughter, Erin who helps out at the store said her Dad has been in the business for as long as she could remember. They buy and sell and often sell on Ebay.

When the shop is closed (Tues. & Wed.) Jim is out frequenting auctions and looking for more cool stuff to put in the shop. If you are looking for something specific be sure to ask as they have a lot more inventory than what you see inside the shop. The inventory changes often so be sure to put this little place on your list.
