Exploring Magnolia Blvd in Burbank, CA
Thrift and Vintage Shopping on Magnolia Blvd
During a recent trip to Los Angeles, visiting our daughter and her boyfriend, they took us to Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank, CA to do some vintage, thrift and antique shopping. Los Angeles is spread out over many miles and communities, with tons of places to explore. I’m hoping that we’ll visit many more flea markets, thrift stores and vintage shops each time we visit.
Magnolia Blvd. has so many places to visit. Shops, restaurants, galleries, and although we only managed to hit a few places on a couple of blocks, I thought I’d share our adventures here.
Playclothes

This was the first shop we visited and WOW, the interior of this places is amazing! The shop has a great collection of vintage clothing all displayed in several rooms.
Lovely vignettes of vintage clothing displayed alongside accessories and household items keep you busy as you move through the space. This place deserves way more time than we were able to spend, and I’d recommend moving through the store at least 2 times, so you don’t miss anything. The women working at the store were friendly and helpful, and the shop cat was sweet.
Be sure to check out their website, they offer a really helpful vintage shopping guide and post upcoming events. These folks truly love their vintage clothing.
Bearded Lady Vintage & Oddities

A few doors down we found another shop were they paid great attention to the interior details and display. Check out the wallpaper! I love walking into a shop that spends a lot of time merchandising and curating their displays, it really shows creativity and the level of passion they have for their business.
The Bearded Lady Vintage and Oddities shop, which also houses the Mystic Museum, has a wide variety of unique oddities and vintage items. Small animal skulls, spider diagrams and old medical instruments may not be for everyone, but we really liked the shop and found the prices reasonable. Even the display cabinets were cool here!
This place must be super busy at Halloween, but make sure to stop in all year long – they really do have some fun unique items available, and they are super nice! If I lived locally I’d definitely be back to shop for unique home accents and gifts.
American Way Thrift Store

American Way Thrift Store is a pretty typical thrift shop, but it’s a nice budget conscience option in the middle of Magnolia Blvd., which is lined with vintage and antique shops. This is the type of thrift store that requires some focus and digging. We did a quick walk through and I saw a few tempting items but we had to move on so we could check out more places. If I lived near here I would definitely visit this thrift store again.
It’s a Wrap Production Wardrobe Sales

This is a pretty well-known place, but to be honest, since I wasn’t shopping for clothing I only poked my head inside the door, but it looks like a lot of fun, especially if you’re looking for clothing that was used on a favorite TV show.
But Wait There’s More!
Here’s a list of some of the other shops we noticed, while walking around. This is a partial list and there are many other shops on Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank, CA! If you are planning a visit do a Google search and check out the map for more store locations.
